Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of the RentPayor mobile application, website, online rent-payment workflows, and related services.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, accessing, or using RentPayor, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What RentPayor provides
RentPayor provides tools for organizing properties, units, tenants, and leases; generating rent invoices; initiating eligible online rent payment requests; reconciling confirmed payments; recording payments received through other methods; calculating balances, credits, and arrears; maintaining payment history; and generating payment receipts.
Online rent payments
Eligible online rent collections use third-party payment services and financial institutions to initiate, process, confirm, and settle the underlying payment. RentPayor connects the payment workflow to the rental invoice and records a confirmed payment after applicable validation. Availability, processing, settlement, reversals, disputes, and provider-side failures may depend on those external services and institutions.
Manual payment records
Users may also record payments received outside the integrated online payment flow. A manual payment record reflects information entered by the user and does not mean RentPayor independently verified the underlying transfer. Users remain responsible for entering accurate information and resolving disputes about manually recorded payments.
Accuracy of rental records
You are responsible for the accuracy of tenants, leases, invoice terms, manually entered payment information, expenses, and other information you provide. Generated balances, arrears, summaries, credits, and receipts depend on those records and on payment confirmations received from integrated providers where applicable.
Accounts and access
You are responsible for protecting account access and for activity performed through your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Payment-provider setup
Online collection may require business information, a supported settlement account, provider onboarding, identity or business verification, and bank verification. Access to online collection can be limited, suspended, or unavailable when required information is missing, verification is incomplete, or the external payment provider cannot provide the service.
Platform Fee billing
RentPayor charges a flat monthly Platform Fee independent of portfolio size. Platform Fee invoices and payment status do not determine access to landlord features. Current fees, due dates, payment status, and receipts are shown in the app.
Receipts and payment records
RentPayor receipts show payment information stored against an invoice and how the amount was applied. For integrated online collections, the payment record may be created from a confirmed provider response. For manually recorded payments, the receipt reflects the information entered by the user. A receipt is not a guarantee against later provider, bank, M-Pesa, reversal, or payment dispute events.
Permitted use
You may use RentPayor only for lawful rental management, payment, and recordkeeping purposes. You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, create deceptive or fraudulent records, or use payment features for unlawful transactions.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep RentPayor reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, uninterrupted third-party payment services, or error-free operation. Features, limits, integrations, supported payment methods, and supported platforms may change as the product develops.
No professional advice
RentPayor provides rent collection, recordkeeping, and summary tools. It does not provide legal, tax, accounting, property-management, debt-collection, or financial advice.
Termination
We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these terms have been violated, the service is being abused, or continued access creates legal, operational, payment, security, or fraud risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentPayor is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by inaccurate user-entered records, external provider outages, failed or delayed payments, reversals, settlement issues, or payment disputes, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date will be revised when an updated version is published.
