Common questions

Using the web dashboard

Use the RentPayor dashboard to work across properties, owners, tenants, leases, invoices, payments, expenses, reports, and activity from one organization workspace.

Starting with RentPayor

Create a lease by adding or selecting a vacant unit and tenant, then enter the rent terms. For a current lease, you can generate the first invoice during setup.

Choosing where rent is paid

Configure rent collection to settle to a supported bank account, M-Pesa Paybill, or M-Pesa Till. RentPayor does not hold landlord funds.

Collecting rent via M-Pesa

Online collection supports eligible KES invoices through the integrated M-Pesa flow. The payment request is tied to a specific invoice and tenant phone number.

Online payment reconciliation

After a successful provider confirmation, RentPayor validates the payment details and M-Pesa receipt before recording the payment against its invoice and updating the balance.

Recording another payment method

If rent is received outside the integrated M-Pesa flow, open the invoice and record the payment manually. It uses the same invoice-balance and credit logic.

Partial or excess payment

A partial payment leaves the remaining balance outstanding. An amount above the invoice balance is carried forward as tenant credit.

Team access

Staff can work inside the same organization so tenant records, rent follow-up, and day-to-day operations are not tied to one person’s login.

Mobile notifications

RentPayor mobile notifications can bring a signed-in user back into the relevant workflow so important follow-up does not depend on repeatedly checking the app.

Pricing

RentPayor costs KES 5,000 per month flat. The monthly RentPayor fee does not change with the number of properties, units, tenants, invoices, or the amount of rent collected.
